On September 23rd and 24th, Prince Edward Island was hit by Hurricane Fiona — the strongest storm we’ve ever seen. Our “big barn” collapsed, the roof blew off the hotel, hundreds of trees fell, and the bay water devoured our boathouse and flooded Cottage #28. Once the fallen trees were removed from our lane, family, friends, staff, and neighbours of the Shaws were on site to help out in any way they could. Because of the damage, we were forced to end our 2022 season early on September 25th after one of the busiest summers Shaw’s ever had. It was weeks before we had our power, water, and adequate cell service restored, and our cleanup and repairs carried well into the spring of 2023, but we are back and in much better shape than we were in September. We send our sincere thanks to everyone for the help and support we received after the storm.
