Dave Gunning is best defined as a master craftsman. Over the course of 23 years and 11 earlier albums, the Nova Scotian folk singer/songwriter has diligently sharpened his skills, developing into a poetic storyteller and emotionally convincing singer with few equals.

About this event
Sarah Segal-Lazar is an award-winning performer and singer-songwriter. Though she has previously lived amidst the busy streets of New York and Montreal, she is happy to call the red shores of PEI home. Blending folk and country, reviewers have called her songs “simply mesmerizing” and “so gorgeous, they made the air go still.”
In addition to her solo album “Two if by Sea,” Sarah has worked with artists across North America, from death metal in Kentucky to jazz in Greenwich Village to her own country-fusion band The Plaidversaries.
Folks might also know Sarah as the Founding Festival Director of the Island Fringe. When not writing folk songs, Sarah can be found working on her documentary musical CHEW.

From the sounds of slapback echo, twangy Telecasters and swooning pedal steel, it’s clear that Scott MacKay has an affinity for country music of the 1950s and ‘60s. But the singer/songwriter from Charlottetown PEI also has a sharp wit that shines through on the 10 original songs that comprise his latest album Stupid Cupid, a collection that offers a fresh, modern take on classic country.
Benny Von is a singer songwriter from Prince Edward Island. With a passionate voice he weaves tails and tunes together into a myriad of emotions.

Originally hailing from PEI, Dan Hendricken is one of the top comics to come out of the Maritimes. He cut his teeth in comedy at the Yuk Yuk’s club in Halifax and in just a few short years was featured on CBC TV as part of the Halifax Comedy Festival. Since then, Dan has headlined comedy clubs all over the country, including Yuk Yuk’s flagship club in downtown Toronto. He draws in every audience he performs for with his easy charm and like-ability.
Dan brings a selection of great comics to join him. Check Shaw’s Hotel and Penzie’s Bistro social media to see who will be joining him closer to the event.

Recognized by his peers as one of Canada’s best performing songwriters, Lennie Gallant has released thirteen albums (10 in English and 3 in French) of original songs which have won him a host of awards and nominations from the JUNOs, Les Prix Eloizes, and The East Coast Music Awards, including 2017 ECMA Entertainer of the Year. His double CD of the 22 songs from his multimedia hit production, Searching For Abegweit, which ran for 173 shows, also won him an ECMA. He was named Canadian Folk Artist of The Year for 2016 and his song Peter’s Dream was voted one of the Top Ten East Coast Songs of All Time and was inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame.
